Gideon, I cannot apologize enough for not writing you sooner. I have such good intentions at times and then... it's just easy to get distracted by other people and other things, you know? Really, that is a lot like my relationship with Christ. It's just so easy to be busy with nothing important, you know? I heard a seminar on this book called "In Praise of Slowness." I don't know about over there, but it seems like here in America, people feel important by having a lot going on in thier lives and henceforth thier lives are characterized by business. It's so silly, really when I sit down and think about it. Life goes by fast enough, don't you think? Well, the book just talked about taking time and slowing down for even simple things like eating a meal.
My acting stuff is going well, we just had a week vacation and our group went to Los Angelos. It wasn't really relaxing at all, because we had so many shows to do and so much other stuff going on. Even the day and a half that we had "off" to do whatever we wanted was filled with a lot. On day, a friend took us to the Pacific Ocean and was going to show us how to surf. It was sooo cool! I had such a blast! The waves were so powerful!! I don't know that I have even been swept up in such a powerful force before! At one point, a surf board hit my in my throat and I couldn't breath or speak well so we wound up spending like 6 hours in the Emergency Room. But God is so so good and I am just fine now.
Thank you for all your encouragment. I don't ever mean for that to sound cliche. Because honestly, Gideon, you give me a new and fresh meaning for what it means to follow hard after Jesus. I appreciate you more than I could ever tell you. I hope that you are able to see Joy again soon. I am praying for you and her.
Hope to hear from you soon!
